Location
  • From Matale town, you should reach Atanwala village via Rattota, Riverston, Pitawala, Ratninda. From there, you should walk about 4 kilometers
Accessibility
  • The total distance from Matale is 44 kilometers. You can also enter from the Laggala New Town and for this, you should come to Atanwala via Illukkumbura, Mahalakotwa, Meda Ela, Ratninda and walk from there to Walpolamulla.
  • The total distance from Laggala New Town is 34 kilometers.
  • Since some development work is underway on the road, it is better to come in a suitable vehicle.
  • Vehicles can only travel up to Atanwala village.
Best Time to visit
  • Visiting here is suitable for all seasons of the year, but traveling during the rainy season is very difficult.
  • Since you have to walk, it is advisable to leave early in the morning.

After traveling about four kilometers through the forest from Atanwala village, Walpola Mulla village is found. This village is also known as the smallest village in Asia. To enter the village, you need to buy a ticket at the Atanwala entrance and travel. Currently, only two families live in this village. One of them is currently temporarily living in Ratninda village. The other family is renovating the monastery in Walpola Mulla village and is doing a good job in its tourism industry. Entering this village, which has a beautiful natural environment, is a very difficult task. use of traditional methods for farming is another sight to see here. There is also a tank here for water supply. Today, it has become a place that has attracted the attention of many local and foreign tourists.
